Terms of Service

Effective: October 25, 2026

These are the terms for using Iminify, the image compression service at https://www.iminify.com. They're written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to [email protected] before you rely on it.

Who we are

Iminify is run by Mozex Labs. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Mozex Labs, and "the Service" means the Iminify website, its tools and everything we provide through them.

You can reach us at [email protected]. That address handles everything: questions, account requests, complaints, and reports about content. Authorities can use it too, including for the matters the EU Digital Services Act covers, and we correspond in English.

Agreeing to these terms

By using the Service, with or without an account, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You have to be at least 16 years old to use Iminify. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy a Pro subscription.

If you use Iminify on behalf of a company or another organisation, you're confirming that you're allowed to bind it to these terms, and "you" then means that organisation as well.

What Iminify does

Iminify compresses images. You upload a JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, TIFF or HEIC file, choose a compression level, and get a smaller file back. You can also convert between formats, resize, and choose whether the file keeps its EXIF metadata. Unless you switch it off, AI writes alt text for each image and suggests a file name for it. Page scanning takes a web page address, collects the images that page loads, and compresses them all at once.

You can use the compressor without an account. An account, which is free, gives you higher daily limits, page scanning, a history of your results, and the option to buy Pro. The exact limits of each plan (images per day, page scans per day, file size, upload rate) are on the pricing page, and that page, not this one, is where they're kept up to date.

We may change the limits of the free plans, add or remove features, and introduce new plans. We'll give account holders reasonable notice by email before a change that takes something away from a plan they're on.

Your account

Give us accurate details when you sign up, and keep your email address current. We use it to verify the account, reset passwords and send the notices these terms mention.
Keep your password to yourself, and the Google, GitHub, Microsoft or Apple account you sign in with safe. Everything done through your account is your responsibility until you tell us it's been compromised. Two-factor authentication is available in your settings and we recommend it.
Signing in with one of those accounts is the same as signing in with a password. If its email address matches an account here and the company has verified that address, you're signed into that account. If you lose access to it, the "Forgot your password?" link sends a reset link to your email address, and the password you set there works from then on.
One person, one account. Don't share an account, and don't use someone else's.
An account has to be verified by email before it can scan pages. Until then it's treated as a guest.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. See "Ending your account" below.

Your images and other content

You own what you upload. Uploading an image to Iminify, or having the scanner fetch one, doesn't give us any ownership of it. The optimized copies we make of your images are yours too.

The licence you give us. So that we can run the Service, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, decode, re-encode, resize, convert and transmit your content, and to keep it in storage, for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you and keeping it secure. We don't use your images for anything else: not for training models, not for marketing, not for building datasets. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies that are on their way out of our systems.

What you promise about your content. You're responsible for what you upload and for what you point the scanner at. You confirm that:

you own the content or have the right to use it and to have it processed the way Iminify processes it;
processing it doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
it isn't illegal where you are or where we are, and it isn't child sexual abuse material, which we'll report to the authorities;
it doesn't contain malware or anything built to attack the Service or its users;
if it shows or contains other people's personal data, you have a lawful basis for having it processed.

Metadata. By default we strip EXIF metadata (camera details, location, dates) from the optimized copy. If you switch on "Keep EXIF", the optimized copy keeps it. The original file you uploaded keeps its metadata in storage either way.

Storage and deletion. Your originals and their optimized copies stay in our storage until they're deleted. Nothing removes them on a timer. Compressing a result again with new settings makes a new result with its own copy of the original, and each result is deleted on its own. Each image and each page scan in your results has a delete button, and using it removes the record, the original and every optimized copy from storage at once. Deleting a page scan deletes every image it found. Deletion is permanent and neither you nor we can get the files back afterwards, so keep your own copy of anything you care about. An image can't be deleted while it's still queued or being processed.

If you're a guest, your results are tied to your browser session. When that session ends, after about two hours without activity or when you clear your cookies, you can no longer reach those results, and neither can anyone else. The files stay in storage until we remove them. If you want a guest upload deleted after your session has ended, email us with the file name and roughly when you uploaded it and we'll remove it. If you sign in during the same session, the results you made as a guest move into your account.

Sharing a result. A finished result can be given a public link from its menu, after you confirm that you want it public. Anyone with the link can then open a page showing the optimized copy and, where a browser can draw the original, the original and a comparison of the two; they can download both, and run the original through Iminify with settings of their own, without an account, until you stop sharing or delete the result. A copy they make that way is a result of theirs, stored under their own session or account like an upload, and it stays when you stop sharing. The link is random and isn't listed on the site, and the page asks search engines not to index it, but we can't control who a link is passed on to or what a visitor does with a file they downloaded. Share only what you have the right to make public, and don't share an image of another person without their agreement. If you shared as a guest, you can stop sharing only while your session lasts; after that, email us the link and we'll switch it off. The licence you give us above covers showing a shared result to whoever opens its link.

Sharing a page report. On Pro, a finished page scan's report can be given a public link from the report, after you confirm that you want it public. Anyone with the link can then open a page showing the report, without an account: the scanned page's address, the addresses and names of its images, what the scan measured about each, the AI alt text suggested for an image shown without one, and thumbnails of the compressed copies. Nothing on that page can be downloaded or changed. The link works while your account is on Pro, pauses if it isn't, and comes back if you go Pro again; it ends when you stop sharing, which you can do on any plan, or delete the scan. The link is random and isn't listed on the site, and the page asks search engines not to index it, but we can't control who a link is passed on to. Share only reports of pages you have the right to report on. The licence you give us above covers showing the compressed copies to whoever opens the link. A report's CSV and PDF are made when you download them and aren't kept by us.

We're not a backup. Iminify is a processing tool, not a place to keep your only copy of anything. Keep your originals somewhere else.

Using Iminify for an organisation. If you process images for a business or another organisation and they contain other people's personal data, that organisation is responsible for the data and we process it on its instructions, as these terms and the privacy policy describe. A data processing agreement is available on request.

Removal by us. We may remove content, or refuse to process it, when we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or the law, when someone with a valid claim asks us to, or when we're required to. We don't scan the images you upload: we act on reports, on what we come across while supporting users or investigating abuse, and on requests from authorities, and a person, not software, decides every removal. When we remove something or restrict an account, we tell you what was affected, why, whether the reason is the law or these terms, and how to contest it, unless the law stops us.

AI alt text

While AI alt text is on, a small copy of each image you compress goes to Anthropic, whose model writes a short description of it for the image's alt attribute and suggests a file name, in the language you pick. It's on by default on the website, through the API and through a connected AI app, and you can switch it off on each. A page scan writes one only for the images the page shows without alt text, for its report. The privacy policy says what's sent and how long it's kept. The suggested name renames your download only if you turn on "Rename files", click "Use this name", or ask for it in the request.

The text is written by a machine and can be wrong: it can misread small text, miscount, or describe a detail that isn't there. Read it before you publish it. The model is told never to name the people in a picture or guess who they are. Every plan has a number of alt texts a day, shown on the pricing page; on Pro it's unlimited within fair use, described below. A day that's used up still compresses your images, without the alt text.

Page scanning

The scanner opens the page address you give it in a browser on our servers, collects the images that page loads, downloads them and compresses them like any other upload. The request comes from our servers, so the site you scan sees our address and the page address as the referring page, not your browser.

When you scan a page you confirm that you're allowed to fetch and process its images: it's your own site, or a site whose owner has given you permission, or the images are otherwise yours to use. Don't scan sites that forbid automated access in their terms, and don't use the scanner to collect images you don't have rights to. We don't check ownership, so the responsibility is yours, and a claim from a site owner about a scan you ran is covered by "Your responsibility for claims" below.

Scans are limited per plan, each scan stops at a set number of images, and we may refuse or rate-limit scans of a particular site when we need to protect the Service or the site being scanned. An address that points at a private network is refused outright. A page that needs a login or that blocks automated browsers isn't refused, but it usually comes back with no images, because the scanner sees what a visitor who isn't signed in would see.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

upload, process or store anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
process images of other people without a lawful basis, or use the Service to stalk, harass or expose anyone;
send malware, probe or attack the Service, or try to get past its limits, rate limits or access controls;
overload the Service, run many accounts to multiply the free limits, or automate the website without our written permission;
resell the Service or offer it as your own, or scrape or copy our pages, copy or showcase content;
do anything that puts our infrastructure, our providers or other users at risk.

Automated access is allowed only through the API and the MCP server we publish, with your own API token or an AI app you've connected. The website itself is for people using a browser.

Usage limits and fair use

Every plan has limits: images per day, page scans per day, images per scan, file size, uploads and page scans per minute, and API requests per minute. They're on the pricing page and in the API documentation, and they're enforced by the software. Pro has no daily caps, but it's still a service shared with other people, so we may slow down or pause usage that looks automated or that degrades the Service for others, and we'll tell you when we do. The same fair use applies to Pro's AI alt text: a volume no person's work would reach is paused until the next day.

The API

The API lets your own code do what the website does: compress, convert and resize images, run page scans, and manage the results. Its documentation describes every part of it and its limits. It's open to any account whose email address is verified, and these terms cover everything done through it, exactly as they cover the website.

You call it with API tokens you create in your settings. A token acts as you, so protect it like a password, keep it out of anything you hand to other people (a web page, an app), and delete it if it leaks. Anything done with a token counts as done by you and against your account's plan: the API and the website spend the same daily and per-minute limits, so using both at once never adds up to more than your plan.

When you give the API the address of an image instead of the file, our servers fetch it from that address the way the page scanner fetches images, and the same rules apply: you confirm that you're allowed to fetch and process the image, and an address that points at a private network is refused.

AI apps such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can use the Service through our MCP server, which is another door onto the same API, on these same terms and within the same limits. An app does nothing until you approve it on our site, and from then on it acts as you, the way a token does: what it does counts as done by you and against your plan. You can disconnect it in your settings at any time. What the app does with what it receives from us is between you and the company that makes it.

On Pro, you can also have the Service send a request to an address of your own each time one of your images or page scans finishes or fails (webhooks). You're responsible for the server at that address and for what it does with what it receives. If it keeps failing to take the requests, we stop sending until you resume them in your settings, and requests for events that finished meanwhile aren't sent later.

The API and the MCP server can change as the Service changes. The documentation always describes the version that's running.

Pro Plan

Pro is a paid subscription for one account. It removes the daily limits, raises the file size limit, puts your work in a queue of its own, lets you share a page scan's report and download it as a CSV or a PDF, and sends webhooks to your own server. What's included and what it costs is on the pricing page.

Buying Pro. Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller for the purchase: it takes the payment, adds any VAT or sales tax your country requires, issues the receipt, and holds your payment details. We never see your card number, only the card brand and its last four digits. Lemon Squeezy's own terms of sale and privacy policy apply to the payment itself, alongside these terms.

Renewal and cancellation. A subscription renews on its own, monthly or yearly, at the end of each paid period, until you cancel it. You cancel from your plan page. Cancelling stops the next charge; Pro stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then the account goes back to the free plan's limits. Your history and your images stay with the account.

Price. A subscription keeps the price it was opened at, for every renewal. If we change the price, the new price applies only to subscriptions opened after the change. We'll post any change on the pricing page in advance.

Refunds

If Pro isn't what you expected, the first payment is refunded in full on request within 14 days of the charge, whether or not you used Pro in the meantime. A renewal you didn't mean to pay is refunded in full on request within 7 days of the charge. Email [email protected] from the address on the account and say which charge it is.

A full refund ends Pro straight away. A partial refund we offer as goodwill doesn't end the plan. Refunds go back the way you paid, and the provider's processing time applies.

If you're a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of it. Our 14-day refund is how you use it, and Lemon Squeezy, as the seller, returns the money. Where the law where you live gives you more than these windows, the law wins. The legal guarantee that a digital service matches its description applies to Pro as well.

Payment problems. If a renewal fails, Lemon Squeezy retries it for a while and you can update your payment method from your plan page. If it keeps failing, the subscription ends and the account goes back to the free plan. If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of asking us for a refund, we may end Pro on that account while the dispute is open, and we may decline future purchases from it.

One account. Pro belongs to the account that bought it and can't be shared, transferred or split across accounts.

Deleting your account cancels its subscription. If the payment provider can't be reached at that moment, the deletion doesn't go through, and you can try again a little later.

Reporting illegal content and copyright complaints

Images on Iminify are private unless their owner has shared them, or a page report that shows them: only the person who uploaded them, anyone they've given a public link to, and our staff for the reasons set out in the privacy policy, can open them. If you believe something we store or that a shared link opens is illegal or infringes your rights, email [email protected] with:

what the content is and, if you have it, the address or file name that identifies it;
why you believe it's illegal or infringing, and, for copyright, proof that you own the work or act for the owner;
your name and a way to reach you;
a statement that you believe in good faith the information is accurate.

We'll acknowledge the report, look into it promptly, and remove or block the content when the report is justified. We may tell the uploader that a report was made and, where the law allows, who made it. If we decide against your report, or against you as the uploader, you can ask us to look again by replying to our decision. Knowingly false reports may be met with a refusal to process further ones.

Our rights in the Service

The Service itself, its name, logo, design, text and code, belongs to us and is protected by copyright and trademark law. These terms don't give you any rights in it beyond using it as intended. Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer or build on it without our written permission. The encoders we run (jpegli, mozjpeg's jpegtran, pngquant, zopfli, cwebp, avifenc, gifsicle and others) are open-source projects under their own licences, which is why an optimized file is entirely yours.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

Third-party services

Parts of the Service are provided by other companies: Lemon Squeezy takes payments, Cloudflare sits in front of the site, Hetzner hosts our servers and storage in the European Union, Anthropic writes the AI alt text, and Google measures our advertising. They're listed with what each one receives in our privacy policy. Their terms govern your dealings with them, and we're not responsible for their services.

Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep Iminify up, but we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may take the Service down for maintenance, change how it works, and add or remove features at any time. If we ever decide to shut Iminify down, we'll give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email so they can download what they need, and we'll refund the unused part of any Pro period.

Ending your account

By you. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, Profile, Delete Account. You confirm it first, with your password if your account has one. Deleting the account cancels its Pro subscription, removes your personal details, and permanently deletes your history and every image in it, with its optimized copies. A record of its payments and the counts the Privacy Policy describes stay, without your name or email address. There's no undo.

By us. We may suspend or close an account, and refuse or stop processing, if you break these terms, if we have to by law, if a payment is charged back, or if an account's use puts the Service or others at risk. We'll tell you why, unless the law stops us or telling you would help someone get around the block. An account closed for breaking these terms doesn't get a refund. When an account is closed, its content is deleted the same way as when you delete it yourself.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Compression is lossy by design at every level except lossless: the result is smaller because information has been removed, and how it looks is your call to check before you use it anywhere. We don't guarantee that a file will be reduced by any particular amount, that an output will suit a particular purpose, that a scan will find every image on a page, that an AI alt text or file name is accurate, or that the Service will be free of errors or interruptions.

To the extent the law allows, we exclude every warranty not stated in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, or for the cost of substitute services, however they arise. For everything else, our total liability to you for all claims connected with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim, or 50 US dollars, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law: for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any liability that the consumer law of the country you live in doesn't let us exclude. If you're a consumer, you keep every right that the mandatory law where you live gives you, and these terms don't take any of them away.

Your responsibility for claims

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you uploaded or scanned, because of how you used the Service, or because you broke these terms, you'll cover the losses, costs and reasonable legal fees we incur as a result. This doesn't apply where the claim is caused by our own breach of these terms or the law, and it doesn't apply to consumers where the law where they live doesn't allow it.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country where Mozex Labs is established, and disputes are handled by the courts there, except that if you're a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of that country apply to you whatever this section says.

Before going to court, write to us. Most problems are fixed in a couple of emails, and we'd rather fix them than argue about them. We haven't signed up to an alternative dispute resolution body; if we can't settle a complaint between us, we'll tell you which body could handle it where you live and whether we'd take part.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the top is the date the current version took effect. For a change that materially affects your rights or obligations, we'll email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect, and post a notice on the site for everyone else. If you don't agree with a change, stop using the Service and, if you have one, delete your account before the change takes effect. Using the Service after that date means you accept the new terms. Earlier versions are available on request.

Other terms

These terms, the privacy policy, and for Pro the Lemon Squeezy terms of sale, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent needed and the rest stays in force.
If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given it up.
You can't transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor that takes over the Service, and we'll tell you if that happens.
Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, such as an outage at a provider we depend on, an attack on the network, or a change in the law. Your payment obligations aren't covered by this.
These terms are written in English, and the English text is the one that counts if a translation ever differs.
