Which apps work with it?

Claude on the web and on the desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code are covered step by step in the setup guide at https://www.iminify.com/docs/mcp. Any other app that speaks MCP over HTTP can connect with OAuth, or with an API key sent as a header.

Can it compress files on my computer?

Yes, when the agent can run commands on your machine, like Claude Code or Cursor. It asks Iminify for a one-time upload link and sends the file there. An agent in the cloud, like Claude on the web, works with images that have an address online, or small files it sends inline.

Does the AI see my images?

The app receives what it asks Iminify for: each image's name, size, settings and download links. If it then opens a link, it has the image. Iminify never sends your images anywhere on its own, and the links expire after 60 minutes.

Is this the same as the API?

It's the same account, the same limits and the same work, reached a different way. The API is for your own code; the MCP server is for AI apps, which read its tools and decide when to call them. Both are documented at https://www.iminify.com/docs.

How do I disconnect an app?

Open Settings, then Connected apps, and press Disconnect next to it. The app stops working with Iminify at once and has to be approved again to come back. An app set up with an API key stops when you delete that key.
